ADRA Helps Refugees Fulfill Their Dreams

A young refugee woman, Naw Eh Doh Doh, dreams of becoming a doctor and ADRA is helping her take steps toward fulfilling that dream.

Naw Eh Doh Doh’s story began in Myanmar where her rural family struggled to make ends meet through farming. In order to follow her dreams, she went to Ban Don Yang refugee camp in Thailand where she had heard refugees were able to go to school. Her journey presented many struggles and hardships. Through sheer determination, Naw Eh Doh Doh persisted and was finally able to enroll in one of the schools that ADRA supports.

“It feels good to be in school. I am happy that I will have skills to get through life,” says Naw Eh Doh Doh, who is successfully finishing eighth grade. Next year she plans to start high school and also enroll in a language school to learn English as she keeps her sights on medical school.

Your contributions to ADRA make it possible for many others like Naw Eh Doh Doh to have an opportunity to a better life through education.
